1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the WeStep mobile application (the “App”) provided by Ezekiel Sung (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using WeStep, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use WeStep.
2. About WeStep
WeStep is a social step-tracking app for general fitness motivation. It lets you track daily steps from Apple HealthKit, connect with friends, join leagues, view leaderboards, send messages and reactions, and stay motivated together.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use WeStep, and old enough to consent to these Terms and to the use of HealthKit data under the laws of your country. By using WeStep, you confirm you meet these requirements.
4. Accounts
To use most WeStep features you need an account. You are responsible for the activity on your account, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Please notify us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
5. Health and Fitness Disclaimer
WeStep is intended for general fitness motivation and social step tracking. WeStep is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical care.
You should consult a qualified medical professional before beginning, changing, or stopping any fitness routine, especially if you have any health condition or concerns. You use WeStep at your own discretion and at your own risk.
6. User Content and Social Features
WeStep includes social features. The content and interactions you provide may include your display name, avatar, messages, reactions, league activity, and leaderboard activity. You are responsible for the content you submit and for your interactions with other users.
By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and display that content as needed to operate WeStep’s features (for example, displaying your avatar and step activity to your friends and league members).
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users
- Spam or send unwanted messages
- Impersonate another person
- Upload illegal, infringing, hateful, or harmful content
- Attempt to falsify or manipulate step data, leaderboards, or league standings
- Attempt to break, reverse engineer, or interfere with the App or our backend services
- Use WeStep in any way that violates applicable laws
8. Notifications
If you enable notifications, WeStep may send push notifications related to friend requests, reactions, messages, sync requests, and league activity. You can adjust notification settings in iOS Settings or within the app.
9. Third-Party Services
WeStep relies on the following third-party services to provide its features:
- Apple HealthKit — to read step count data with your permission.
- Supabase — for authentication, database, and storage.
- Resend — for sending authentication and password reset emails.
- Apple Push Notification service — for delivering push notifications.
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.
10. Service Availability
We work to keep WeStep reliable, but we do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
11. Account Deletion and Termination
You can delete your account at any time from within the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the App, or pose a risk to other users or the service.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
WeStep is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that WeStep will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ezekiel Sung and WeStep will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of WeStep after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
